FUNNY PEOPLE (2009)

Submitted By: Hollywood Justin  Dec 24th, 2009

Grade D
Funny people, yes; funny movie, no rather lame, pointless and depressing except for the love interests. Adam Sandler's character hires a comedian assistant to help him write jokes and cater to his needs as he finds out that he has an advanced form of Leukemia, the prognosis and outcome of which doesn't look promising. The doctor claims that his only hope is an experimental drug from Canada. It was similar to "Behind the Red Door" except that "Behind the Red Door" was completely and utterly depressing and without any significant comedy and without any romantic endeavors. This movie had some heartfelt and comedic moments, but otherwise, it was probably Adam Sandler's worst movie to date, at least his worst I've seen.
